Two educators from the East Merced River Conservation District, Jake and Jean, visited Room 5 on Friday. The EMRCD provides natural resource education and conservation programs in Eastern Merced County. Knowing that members of class rececently finished researching the Merced River as an ecosystem of their choosing, Jake and Jean showed 5th and 6th graders animals skins from predators and prey that are located along the Merced River. They also explained the importance of watershed conservation and demonstrated different scenarios on their interactive watershed model.
