Room 5 Students have been taking the time to deeply analyze and question text as it’s read in short stories. After our most recent short stories, we discussed possible internal dialogue of each character and significant events. We discussed how good readers create images in their heads of what they are reading, almost like “mind graphic novels.” Students independently created graphic novels to display their understanding of key concepts in our recent literature selections. Almost everyone is finished with theirs and they look fantastic on our classroom wall.
